Online Music Lessons - part 1
by Cynthia Adams

Music education is an integral part of a well-rounded education and now your child(ren) that are being homeschooled can have quality music lessons right in the convenience of your own home. Did you know learning how to play an instrument can boost your child’s educational, cognitive and social development while achieving a better, well-rounded education?

Getting your child involved in an extra-curricular activity is one of the easiest aspects of a well-rounded education that can be overlooked. One of the most beneficial extra-curricular activities that all parents should explore are music lessons. While many schools let children experiment with band in upper-elementary, teaching music or mastery of an instrument to kids is something that can be started as early as teaching reading.

Online music lessons make it easy for kids to learn an instrument without parental instruction or expensive music academies.  They are safer, more convenient (no driving into the city to take a lesson), and can be taken individually or easily setup as group lessons with other students. Live Music Tutor group lessons can be with one online instructor and several students in the same room at the same time or one instructor with several students in multiple locations joining an online classroom at the same time.

With the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) law that was passed in December 2015, music is being reintroduced as a key part of a well-rounded education just like math and science in the development of your child.  As homeschoolers you will be able to continue to stay ahead of the integration of the new law with many benefits for your child.
